Motivation for Better Health

Improving your health is undeniably important. Without the right diet and exercise regimen, you can find your life compromised by obesity, disease and many other conditions. However, many people lack the motivation to follow through with a commitment to exercise and better health. How do you maintain your motivation throughout this process? You will need to change your mindset, first. Remember this phrase, "The lifestyle I live today, is directly related to the quality of life I have tomorrow."
How does this phrase help you maintain your motivation? Why is motivation so important?
Obviously, if you don’t have any current health conditions, you might feel as though you can live as you like, with impunity. However, today’s excesses become tomorrow’s pitfalls. No one sets out in life to be obese, to develop diabetes or to put themselves at greater risk of heart disease. However, that double cheeseburger and fries eaten today is tomorrow’s heart attack.
You set your future by what you do today. If you live a sedentary life today, tomorrow will be filled with hardened arteries, weak muscles and a lack of flexibility. While you might feel "I’m strong and flexible enough now, why workout?" that can change seemingly overnight. The passage of time is a deceptive thing and if you do not maintain your level of fitness and health, you can wake to find that you’ve become something you never wanted to be.
Motivation is the key to remaining in good physical condition and good health. Without motivation, you will simply slip back into the mass of consumers currently suffering with horrible diseases. When you remember that the lifestyle you live today is directly related to the quality of life you have tomorrow, the ramifications become quite clear – stay active, eat healthy and live better for tomorrow.
