Maximizing The Benefits Of Interval Training

Interval training is certainly popular these days.  Yet many people are not getting everything they can from their exercise experiences with intervals.  If you want to maximize the benefits of interval training, you need to be doing it right.

What?  There’s a way to do interval training wrong?  That’s right!

When you only look at the surface principles of interval training, it’s likely that you go in to the process incorrectly.  The goal isn’t to work out as hard as you possibly can for a moment and then rest for a moment and then repeat the process until you are exhausted.  No, the goal of an interval program is to vary the intensity of your exercise for maximum health benefits and fat burning.

Working out at your maximum every time you want an interval can set you up for injury.  A better use of your body and your time would be to simply exercise at a greater intensity without trying to best your personal best every time.  You want to challenge your body!

To get a good program, you may want to look into the Insanity program, a full body workout using intervals.

Your personal fitness should be the first consideration, you can target weight loss or muscle building goals and attack them with your interval program.  You will find that a targeted approach with an emphasis on your goals will be much more effective and give you much greater benefits than simply exercising yourself into exhaustion each time!
