Home Workout Routine

One barrier to fitness for many people is time.  With all of the other demands that life makes on your day, it can be hard to find the time to exercise.  However, you can make positive steps toward improving your health with just 10 minutes a day and a good home workout routine.

It may not seem like a lot.  However, exercise each day and you’ve done 1.1 hours of exercise in a week, which is a good amount.  The key is to make the commitment and stick with the program.

There are several ways to find the 10 minutes you need to do this.  One way is to start getting up earlier in the morning.  You can do some simple stretches, crunches, and body weight exercises before getting into the shower.  This small slice of time helps get your blood moving in the morning.

You can find 10 minutes at lunch, or on your way out of work, do two or three laps of your parking lot.  If you are at home, walk around the block 5 times.  You will be out and moving, and adding minutes to your daily time.  You may even find that you can do more than you planned once you are out and moving.

For a concentrated workout, you can turn to videos, like Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer.  Timed, Tony guides you through a quick home workout routine that improves your health and keeps you on schedule.  Watching them at home also eliminates the need to factor in travel time to the gym.

Once you have been on the 10 minutes a day plan for a few weeks, you will notice improvements to your health.  The regular exercise will keep your body limber and working, rather than atrophying and getting soft.  Your immune system is boosted by exercise, and you may also start sleeping better at night.

Just a small, regular investment in your health can make a big difference.  Even without a personal trainer or fancy gym, you can improve your life and your personal well-being.  The key is to stop saying you don’t have the time, and start doing what’s good for you in the long term today with a home workout routine.
