Exercise Your Way To An Active Metabolism

When you want to be healthy and lose weight, you certainly don’t need your own body working against you!  Yet when your metabolism is barely burning fuel, you won’t be seeing the results you want.  Fortunately, you can change the way you exercise to get—and keep—your metabolism in fat burning mode around the clock.

Intensity

One way to improve your fitness level and get your metabolism working hard at burning fat is adding intensity to your workout.  This accomplishes two main goals for your body.  It increases your fat burning and weight loss, and it also challenges your muscles, boosting your metabolic rate for hours.

Variety

The next thing you will want to do is add variety to your workout.  If you are mostly doing aerobic dvds at home, you may have trained your metabolism to a certain level.  Brining in other exercises and doing different fitness programs can jolt your metabolism out of its rut and force it to burn more calories throughout the day.

Timing

You will also want to look at the timing of your fitness program.  Do you usually work out in the morning or at night?  What has your body been trained to respond to?  Changing the time of day of your workouts—or throwing an extra workout at an unexpected moment—can jump start your metabolism yet again.

The key with all of these workout modifications is that they keep your body from getting complacent and your metabolism from slowing down.  By doing a bit more exercise and doing some different exercises, you can have the best weight loss program for your metabolism.  You’ll break out of your plateaus when you get your metabolism revved up again and working for you 24 hours a day once more.
