Replace the Carbs, Lose Your Gut

Let’s just cut straight to the heart of the matter – you do need carbohydrates to help your brain function and to give you energy, but you do not need to get them from the simple sugars in such things a starchy white bread, candy, or a double serving of pasta. Not only do these foods make your body release insulin, which stimulates your appetite, but any excess carbs will be stored as fat. Voila! This brings us to that belly that you cannot lose!

If you are dedicating yourself to a regular workout routine you may want to also structure a nutrition fitness program for yourself at the same time. Why? All of those crunches and abdominal exercises in your workouts are going for nothing if you balance the rest of the day with potato chips, bagels, and soft drinks. If you just replace these options with more complex carbs, such as those found in all fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and whole grains you will begin to see and feel the difference.

Remember too that high fiber diets fight fat, and they also absorb water which makes someone eat less as well. They will help to regulate insulin production – which will also decrease feelings of hunger too. When you begin reducing fat intake you will instantly see the difference in your abdomen.

Not only will complex carbs help to make someone feel hungry less often and help them lose weight, but with the reduction of fat on their body any exercises that they perform which are geared towards the belly area will become more pronounced. Those picture-perfect models with their proverbial “six-pack” abs can only look that way because they have minimal body fat levels. While not many people will be able to sustain such a fantastic physique without concentrated effort, simply replacing starchy and sugary foods in the diet with high fiber and complex carb options can take them a long way towards such a goal.
